Overview

SRI International has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Electronics R&D Technician in our facility in Princeton, NJ.

Responsibilities

This Electronics R&D Technician position will work in the Advanced Imaging Center of the Integrated Systems and Solutions (InSyS) division of SRI in support of electronics development and manufacturing of imaging devices and systems. 

 

The position will work in a hands-on environment within a cross-functional engineering team structure.  As a key member of the electronics hardware and digital firmware development group in the Advanced Imaging Center, the position will be directly involved with all processes for development, testing, manufacturing, and support of custom electronics designs.

 

Some of the technologies the position will work with include: image sensors, analog and digital electronics, power electronics, embedded micro-controllers, FPGAs.  The ideal candidate will have advanced soldering and assembly skills, excellent dexterity and experience handling micro components and assemblies, and ability to build complex cable assemblies. The candidate should be comfortable building prototype assemblies and hand wired circuit boards for proof-of-concept experimental devices and systems.  The ideal candidate will also have experience with the operation of standard electronics test equipment such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, and meters to support circuit design verification and debug under the direction of team engineers.

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Assemble surface mount components into board assemblies in accordance with specifications and drawings.

·Work with engineering during board design test and troubleshooting, performing rework as needed during development.

·Support documentation of electronics designs starting with design phase through testing to release to production.

·Maintain R&D component and test equipment stockroom for Imaging group.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 2 year Electronics Technology, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, or equivalent degree.
    1-2 years demonstrated experience.
  • Due to government requirements candidates must be a US Person.
  • Knowledge of crimp technology used in cable, wire, and connector assemblies.
  • Capable of reading and following electronic / electrical schematic drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components, circuits and some test and measurement equipment.
  • Experience with ESD control procedures and practices.

 

The salary range is: $62,190.00-$70,884.00. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
