SRI International's Integrated Systems and Solutions (InSYS) division designs and develops leading-edge R&D technology that support demanding market needs. The Co-op will work as a member of a team of engineers supporting the development of our Intelligent Systems and the integration of our systems into airborne, naval, and ground systems. System engineering responsibilities include the system modeling, developing of system and software requirements, use cases, test procedures and test reports.  Other responsibilities may include performing test procedures,  determining hardware compatibility, and completing documentation for installation and maintenance.

This position will be a combination of working from home and from our office in Princeton, NJ.

• Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
• May use system modeling or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
• Regular reporting of progress and status
• Completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
• Review customer specifications and under direction develops system architecture to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
• Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
• Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
• May participate in preparation of less complex proposals

• Current Drexel University student actively working to complete a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Due to government requirements candidate must be a US Citizen
• Practical Knowledge of UML and SysML design tools
• Will only consider candidates local to the area

Desired Knowledge:

• Familiar with Windows Visio
• Familiar with System Modeling tools
• Good technical writing skills in support of task documentation
• Understanding of LINUX, Android and Windows Operating Systems
• Familiar with MatLab

The salary range is: $20-$27/hr.  Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.  Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
