Overview

The Microcircuit Emulation Center at SRI International (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) is looking for a Process Engineer (IT Applications) to support the manufacturing of microcircuits (integrated circuits). Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) and Advanced Microcircuit Emulation (AME) programs, the Microcircuit Emulation Center supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system. SRI’s Microcircuit Emulation Center is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry. This role is based on-site, in our Princeton, NJ office.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have an interest in learning about integrated circuit manufacturing and the IT Applications that support the process.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and improving IT Applications systems that support Microcircuit manufacturing working with group and corporate staff (includes all operational areas).
  • Working with staff and Management across all group disciplines to understand current process methodology and implementations as related to IT systems.
  • Sustaining, improving, and optimizing IT applications systems to support operational activities.
  • Working in cross functional teams (Engineering, Integration, Design and Layout) to implement IT Applications systems.
  • Data collection, correlation, interpretation, and presentation of information to management and co-workers.

Qualifications

  • BS (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field and software engineering experience of 10+ years.
  • Experienced working with network systems and ability to use measurement tools to diagnose problems. Past use of MESA TRACS is desired.
  • Experienced with a wide range computer operating systems including legacy Windows OS, Linux/UNIX and HP UX.
  • Experienced with software programming concepts and programing, for example C/CC++, Perl, Python, shell scripting
  • Experienced with software development and version control
  • Experienced with database concepts and architecture
  • Experience with using computer skills to document problems and solutions.
  • Knowledge of schematic diagram, PLC, and ladder logic desired.
  • Demonstrated analytical and systematic teamwork approach to troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Due to Government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

The salary range is: $79,533-$105,381. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
