Overview

From applied research to product development, the Advanced Technology and Systems Division (ATSD) manages complex projects for government and commercial clients. The vision of ATSD is to create competitive advantages for our customers by inventing new technology and concepts resulting in disruptive, low cost, and high-performance solutions. The division advances the state of the art in diverse areas such as radar and electronic warfare; novel imaging technology; robotics; quantum sensing and metrology; marine technology; and applied optics.

 

ATSD has staff at the following SRI locations: Ann Arbor, MI, Arlington, VA, Boulder, CO, Menlo Park, CA, and Princeton, NJ.

 

Engineers will participate in multi-disciplinary, collaborative teams and contribute to the development of state-of-the-art solutions and technologies. As a member of the team, you will engage in cutting-edge development efforts in support of on-going projects, support internal R&D efforts, and assist with developing new programs through proposal development and client engagement. Candidates who apply must be resourceful and able to work independently and as a team member in support of new and on-going projects.

Responsibilities

Areas of expertise currently needed include:

  • Quantum
  • Quantum algorithm design/development
  • Hardware Security (device physics, CMOS, electronic circuits & system)
  • Applied and Computation Science (GenAI models, reinforcement learning, algorithm development)

Qualifications

  • Programming experience with at least one of the following: MATLAB, C/C++, Python, LabVIEW
  • Experience in at least one (preferably more) quantum programming environments such as Qiskit, Cirq, Braket, PennyLane, and Q#
  • We hire at the B.S., M.S., and PhD level depending on position. Ideally candidates will have some type of Engineering degree or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Positions require U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency, some may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
