For more than 60 years, SRI has innovated, developed, and delivered next-generation imaging capabilities and systems for commercial, defense, space, and scientific applications. Today, the Center for Advanced Imaging is pioneering next-generation technologies that are changing the way we see and understand our world across the electro-optical spectrum. From design to fabrication, we develop and deploy complex imagers for space, scientific imaging, commercial applications, spectroscopy and more. The Imaging team is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary group dedicated to the development of custom image sensor devices and systems for commercial, industrial, and government applications. The position will be a member of a design group within the center developing electronics in support of the characterization and test of image sensors as well as of deliverable imaging systems.

 

The position will work onsite in our Princeton, NJ office.

Responsibilities

The position will contribute to all phases of electronics development including requirement definition, board level component selection and schematic design, physical printed circuit board layout, programmable device digital RTL design, design debug and characterization, and design documentation for transfer to manufacturing and user support.  Success will rely heavily on efficient collaboration with other disciplines within the center including IC design, software design, mechanical design, imager test, and production groups.  A strong command of electronic circuit principles is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, new grads welcome to apply!
  • 0-3 years’ experience in electronics design. Experience or career interest in mixed-signal and instrumentation circuit and system design desirable.
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen
  • Must have strong PC tools skills. CAD tool experience such as PSPICE circuit simulation, Altium schematic capture and layout, Quartus or Vivado FPGA development environment desirable.
  • Must be familiar with use of standard laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, function generators.
  • Ability to troubleshoot circuits and systems required.
  • Knowledge of Lidar sensors, CCD and CMOS imager architectures a plus.

The salary range is: $63,873-84,636. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
