Overview

SRI’s BioCyc/Pathway Tools serves a global scientific community. It is a leading bioinformatics platform with curated genome databases for model organisms and thousands of microbes.

 

We are seeking a Sales & Operations Coordinator to drive the operational sales cycle for the BioCyc/Pathway Tools for renewals and completing new sales. This role ensures customers have a seamless experience—from initial interest through long-term renewal—so researchers can focus on discovery while we deliver a dependable, user-friendly commercial process. The ideal candidate combines strong operational discipline with a customer focused mindset and an interest in scientific software.

 

This position can work fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales process for both renewals and new customer acquisitions.
  • Maintain accurate renewal tracking in HubSpot and Stripe, ensuring proactive outreach, customer negotiation and on‑time renewals.
  • Partner with SRI Finance and Legal to facilitate smooth contracting, invoicing, and compliance.
  • Deliver a consistently positive customer experience through clear communication and reliable follow-through.
  • Keep meticulous records of sales activity, forecasting, and customer interactions—nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Help with Customer Support such as lost account credentials, etc.
  • Strong communication, organization, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Produce periodic reports on renewals, pipeline status, and key sales metrics.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Biology or related field a plus but not required
  • 2-5 years of sales operations/customer support experience with customers’ finance and purchasing teams.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Experience with HubSpot required
  • Experience with MS Office Tools
  • Comfort working with scientific customers and translating their needs into actionable sales insight

Desired skills:

  • Experience with Google Analytics to understand user behavior and inform sales and marketing efforts
  • Familiarity with BioCyc/Pathway Tools and core bioinformatics concepts

The salary range is: $56,776-$94,040. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
