Within SRI International, the Center for Geospace Studies is part of the Space & Survivability Lab within the Advanced Technology and Systems Division. The Laboratory is home to several collaborative groups that perform research and development in a variety of areas, such as advanced optical sensing systems, bioelectronic interfaces, optical materials development, energetic materials development, and atmospheric science. The Center for Geospace Studies in particular is responsible for the development and operation of the Advanced Modular Incoherent Scatter Radar (AMISR) systems used for basic ionospheric research, an array of ground-based optical imagers observing the ionosphere-thermosphere system (MANGO), and is involved in a wide variety of basic and applied research programs related to the geospace environment.
The Center for Geospace is seeking a talented Data Scientist who can apply modern data science methods to scientific data from a variety of instruments. The data scientist will participate in multiple research programs related to geospace science, earth and atmospheric science, and other related avenues and will understand the nuances of scientific data and be able to devise appropriate data science methods to derive useful information. Upon joining, the Data Scientist may participate in projects across the Space & Survivability Laboratory, the Advanced Technology and Systems Division, and SRI overall. Some projects may require the ability to gain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
This work is expected to be based at SRI’s Headquarters in Menlo Park, CA, but other locations can be considered including SRI offices in Boulder, CO, Ann Arbor, MI, Princeton, NJ, and Arlington, VA.

The Research Analyst, as part of SRI International's Center for Innovation Strategy and Policy (CISP), will contribute to innovation policy research, analysis, and evaluations for a diverse range of clients, based out of our Arlington, VA location (Remote work due to COVID)
